BRIX - CANADA'S NIAGARA WINE LEGACY is Stephen's second book, and follows his recent release of 'My Italia for Ten Days', a beatiful limited edition artbook with exquisite B+W photographs of Venice, Milan, Pisa, Florence, Rome and the backroads and hillsides of Tuscany.
Stephen Dominick has been a professional photographer for more than four decades. He has established himself as one of Canada's masters of the portrait camera with his visually eloquent style. His signature B+W portraits won him international acclaim when he was the only Canadian photographer selected for Eastman Kodak's B+W Showcase.
Stephen built an enviable reputation beginning in the 1980's with clients ranging from private individuals to many of Niagara's most successful and prominent business enterprises. His community profile was made highly visible with projects wich included photographing more than fifty covers and feature stories for NiagaraLife Magazine, the award-winning "Both Sides of the Brain" marketing campaign for Brock University, calendars for the St. Catharines Fire Department and numerous fundraising initiatives featuring portraits of physicians, patients and benefactors for the Niagara Health System.
His personal portfolio of iconic Canadians includes renowned architect Frank Gehry, Lois Maxwell - Miss MoneyPenny of James Bond fame, legendary jazz artists Moe Kauffman and Peter Appleyard, supermodel Linda Evangelista, guitarist Liona Boyd, singer/songwriter Bryan Adams, Toronto Maple Leafs coach Pat Quinn, Toronto Raptors coach Jay Triano, actor Paul Gross, Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies, Hockey Night in Canada's Ron McLean and founder of the National Ballet School of Canada Betty Oliphant.
Inniskillin was Stephen's first Niagara winery client, eventually leading to his involvement with 'Cuvee - A Celebration of Excellence in Ontario Wines'. Stephen was commissioned to create the original Cuvee Awards which became a tradition for ten years, giving him increasingly frequent access to people in the wine industry. Cuvee 2011 featured massive 4x5 foot portrait prints suspended from the ceilings at Fallsview Casino of some of Niagara's wine 'superstars'.
Stephen is the founder of the Photography Diploma at Niagara College Canada, where he is currently a professor and director of photography media. In 2012, he was recognized by Brock University with the prestigious 'Alumni of Distinction' Award.
